International Marimba Festiva Congress and Competition 2024-2025

Dear marimba community,
The international marimba competitions in the UNESCO world heritage town Bamberg/ Germany have repeatedly influenced and partly shaped the international marimba scene over the last few years. Participants from different countries and continents have constantly provided an excellent level of expertise as well as numerous opportunities of international interchange.
Organiser of these wonderful events is the International Marimba Festiva Association, whose goal it is to continuously promote both young artists and marimba culture worldwide. Even with the restrictions which had been enforced during the Covid pandemic, we kept the competitions going in an online version, whose benefits we have come to appreciate.
Now we would like to invite you again to join our competition, which will take place in a hybrid form to offer the best experience possible for our participants. We will start with online rounds, which make it possible for every young, engaging student to take part without having to spend unnecessary time and money on travel and without harming the environment, as we consider the marimba to be a part of nature, too.
The following, subsequent rounds will take place live in Bamberg in April 2025 to ensure that the finalists can still experience the excitement and intensity of live performance in front of a jury.
