International Marimba Festiva Meetings
International Marimba Festiva Meetings is a Europe-wide event series initiated by Marimba Festiva Association to support young and professional musicians and promote international exchange around the marimba. After numerous successful meetings in Poland, the series is now expanding to other countries to foster artistic development and strengthen the presence of the instrument in Europe.
The meetings bring together semi-professional and professional musicians to share their passion, advance their technical skills, and collaborate with international colleagues through workshops, masterclasses, and joint performances.
Special guests from the youth marimba scene serve as instructors for solo and chamber music, offering guidance and fostering intercultural and artistic exchange. The meetings aim to enhance technical mastery, ensemble skills, and creative expression, while connecting participants to a growing network of marimba artists across Europe.
International Marimba Festiva Meetings, Murcia – Spain, 20-22 March 2026
This first edition will take place from March 20 to 22, 2026, at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia. For three days, the marimba will be at the center of all activities. Participants will enjoy individual lessons, chamber music rehearsals, and concerts, guided by renowned performers and teachers.
The festival will offer 12 places in the full modality. This includes one daily individual lesson of 40 minutes with different professors, totaling three individual lessons throughout the festival. Chamber music will be another fundamental pillar of the weekend: each participant will be part of several ensembles, with daily rehearsals guided by the faculty. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive with their repertoire well prepared in order to make the most out of the lessons and rehearsals and to fully enjoy performing in the concerts held each afternoon.
In addition, 6 places will be offered in the partial modality for those who wish to take a single individual lesson while also participating in a chamber music group, as well as 6 places in the chamber music modality, intended exclusively for participation in chamber ensembles. A passive modality will also be available, with unlimited places.
Marimba Meetings – Spain aims to be a meeting point for sharing, learning, and growing together through music, creating a space where the marimba becomes the central focus, strengthening and enhancing its future.
